Brake Glow publishes general information about vehicle brakes. Reading a page does not create a repair contract, a professional relationship, or a promise that a description matches your vehicle. You are responsible for the decision to keep riding or driving.
What you are reading
The articles explain how brakes heat, fade, smell, smoke, and lose pedal or lever feel, from bicycles and e-bikes through cars, buses, and heavy trucks. They are written for a general reader. They are not a workshop manual, not a factory service procedure, and not instructions for opening a brake system.
Where an article names a temperature, a rotor size, or a standard, that figure applies only to the vehicle type described in the article. A car figure is not a bicycle figure. A bicycle figure is not a truck figure. Using a number outside the vehicle the article names is outside what the article says.
Your decision on the road
If the pedal or lever is soft, the vehicle pulls, or smoke continues, the trip ends. Let the brakes cool in the air. Do not pour water on a hot rotor. Those limits are repeated on the Safety page and in the guides. Waiting for a reply from this website is not a roadside plan.
The Disclaimer states the same boundary in the language of accuracy and responsibility. The two pages belong together. Neither one turns the publication into a repair shop.
The writing
The articles are original writing by the Brake Glow editorial team. You may link to a page. You may quote a short passage with credit and a link to the original URL. Copying a whole article, or republishing the guides as your own, is not allowed.
Photographs remain under the licence named in the caption. A Creative Commons credit on a picture is not a licence to lift the article around it. If a caption names a creator and a source, that credit has to stay with the picture when the licence requires it.
Links and advertisements
A link to another site is there so a reader can check a source or an opt-out page. Brake Glow does not control that site and is not responsible for what it publishes after the link.
When an advertisement is shown on an article, the ad is provided by the advertising vendor, not written by the editorial team. An ad is not an endorsement of a part, a shop, or a claim in the ad. Policy pages do not carry ads. The Privacy page explains the cookies that can come with an advertisement.
The reader list
Joining the reader list means you have given that email address so Brake Glow can send an occasional note about a new guide. You can ask for the address to be removed by emailing [email protected]. The list is not sold. Details are on the Privacy page.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated text will be published at this URL. Continuing to read the site after the text has changed means the new text is the one that applies. A change to a guide’s facts is handled as a correction to that guide, not as a silent change to these terms.

Using the site
You may read the guides, search them, and follow the links in the footer. You may not break the site, probe it for other readers’ email addresses, or send automated signups to the reader list. The reader-list form has a field that automated senders tend to fill. Messages that trip that field are discarded.
Copying the archive to present the guides as your own publication, or to train a product that republishes them without credit, is not allowed. Linking to a single guide, or quoting a short passage with the URL, is the use these terms allow. If you want to reuse a longer passage, write to [email protected] before you publish it.
No accounts
Readers do not register. There is no public profile, no comment thread, and no password for a reader to lose. The only address a reader chooses to leave is the reader-list email, and that choice is described on the Privacy page. An editor’s login is not a reader account and is not available from these terms.
