Write to [email protected] about a correction, a missing fact, a privacy question, or a page that is hard to use. Include the page address. Brake Glow has no shop counter and no phone line for a vehicle that is still moving.

What a useful message contains

A correction is easier to check when the message names the page, the sentence, and the vehicle the article is about. “The hill article is wrong” is harder to place than a note that points at one paragraph and says which machine it misdescribes. If you are asking for a fact to be added, say which vehicle the fact belongs to, so it is not pasted onto a different one.

Privacy messages should say what you want done. If you joined the reader list and want that address removed, send the same email address you used to join, from that address if you can. If you are writing about a published page, include the URL. Do not send identity documents in a first message.

Choose the right subject

  • A wrong figure, a wrong vehicle, or a broken page: email [email protected] with the URL.
  • A reader-list address you want removed: email from that address and say so.
  • A question about cookies or advertising: see the Privacy page and the cookie and cache policy, then email if something is still unclear.
  • A soft pedal, a pull to one side, or smoke from a wheel: do not wait for an email. Stop in a safe place and call a mechanic or roadside service. The Safety page is the short version of that limit.

What this address cannot do

Do not send urgent brake problems by email. If the pedal or lever is soft, the vehicle pulls, or smoke is coming from a wheel, the trip ends there. Let the brakes cool in the air. Do not pour water on a hot rotor. An email reply, even a fast one, is not help at the side of the road.

The editorial team does not diagnose a vehicle from a description, does not tell a reader which part to buy, and does not provide a bleed procedure, an air-brake adjustment, or a machining specification. Those jobs belong to someone who can see the vehicle.

The reader list is separate

The reader list at the bottom of the site takes an email address so Brake Glow can send an occasional note when a new guide is published. Joining that list is not a message to the editors. A correction or a privacy request sent only through the reader form will not be read as correspondence. Use [email protected] for those.

The address you submit to the reader list is stored on this website and is not sold. How that storage works is described on the Privacy page.

How replies work

Messages are read by the editorial team. There is no promise of a same-day reply, and there is no one on duty for a breakdown. If the vehicle is unsafe, call a mechanic or roadside service first. If the message is a correction, the useful outcome is a change to the page, not a personal repair plan.

Brake Glow does not publish a postal address or a telephone number for editorial mail. The contact method on this site is the email address above.

Advertising mail

Brake Glow does not sell editorial mentions. A company that wants a banner on an article is asking for an advertisement, not a change to a guide. Advertising, when it runs, is the snippet saved for articles, and the guides themselves are not rewritten to suit an advertiser. Policy pages stay free of ads. If you are writing about an advertisement that looks wrong on a guide, include the page address and describe the ad. The editorial team can look at placement. It cannot pull a third-party ad by rewriting the article.

What a reply will not include

A reply will not include a torque figure for your car, a pad compound for your bicycle, or a verdict that your rotor is safe to keep using. Those answers need the vehicle, not an inbox. A reply can confirm that a sentence was corrected, that an address was removed from the reader list, or that a page was hard to use and has been changed. If the message is an urgent brake failure, there will not be a useful reply in time, because that situation is not handled by email.
